Waffle-Stitch Madness

Well.... I have finally completed the body of Thermal. Now off to start sleeves on the never ending sweater. Apparently, waffle stitch has become so embedded in my psyche, it has carried over to all my hand knit projects.

Toe up sock with...ahem (Waffle). Knit with Brown Sheep's Wildfoote in SY-300 Ragtime on size 2's -Magic Loop
"HOLE-Y CRAP-O-LA!"
While I love the toe-up method for knitting socks. I loath the holes on the short row heels. I did, however find this, so I will be visiting the frog pond once again.

I used to get those holes too until I followed cosmicpluto.com's recipe for no holes short row heels and toes!

I use the crazy toes and heels patterns for short row heel so no wraps and no holes, worth borrowing a copy if you can.

can you waffle stitch in your sleep? maybe you'll just wake up & the sleeves will be done - a few decreases missing perhaps - but still.... :)
I really love that orange color!

I love waffle stitch too. I can't stand short row heels. The ones that use garter stitch are okay. I've recently discovered the band heel. Best of both worlds, and I can use the eye of partridge stitch on them. (but not on short row heels.)

I got my prize for guessing the stitch count. Thanks! I just got beads to knit ribbon I-cord with to make a necklace and the ribbon yarn will be perfect. Can't figure out the other yarn either.

I love your waffle stitch projects! So sorry about the sock, it's so beautiful indeed - but I think with the tut on short row heels they'll be perfect! Happy Knitting!

I'm getting better about holes too. I've finally figured out about twisting the stitches at the v intersection or whatever you call it. My friend Janette helped with that one. Everything is looking lovely. Ox's socks were the first one's I made without holes. I still have to try toe up.

the harlot really was great. she talked about why knitters are so wonderful which was hilarious & heart-warming. it was all around an amazing day - didn't even notice she was hours late. :)
